Channing Tatum Dreads the Day His Daughter Sees His Magic Mike Dance Moves: “It’s Going to Be Horrifying”

Channing Tatum is bracing himself for the inevitable moment when his daughter, Everly, discovers his iconic dance moves from the Magic Mike films. During a recent appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, the 44-year-old actor admitted that he’s dreading the day when his 11-year-old daughter sees the movies that showcase his past as a male exotic dancer.

“I’m so grateful that she doesn’t know how I dance,” Tatum confessed. “It’s going to be horrifying when [she] does.”

Tatum, whose real-life experiences as a stripper inspired the Magic Mike franchise, joked about how he tones down his dance moves when he’s around his daughter. Instead of the sultry choreography fans know him for, he sticks to more family-friendly arm movements. This is exactly what he did during a recent father-daughter outing to Taylor Swift‘s Eras Tour in Los Angeles, where he kept it PG with his dance moves.

Reflecting on the experience, Tatum quipped, “I was dancing like I’d never danced before,” emphasizing the kid-appropriate version of his moves.

Despite the playful tone, Tatum has previously acknowledged that he’ll eventually have to have an honest conversation with Everly about his past. “When she’s old enough to watch [the movies], we’ll have that conversation,” he shared with ET last year. “There’s no version of me not having the conversation of ‘Dad didn’t just do them in movies, I was an actual stripper,’ so I’m not gonna lie to her.”

As Tatum gears up for the release of his latest movie, Blink Twice, he continues to balance his Hollywood career with the responsibilities of fatherhood, all while preparing for that inevitable, potentially awkward conversation with his daughter.
