Netflix is stepping into the reality music competition scene with a star-studded new show, Building the Band, and they’ve enlisted some of the biggest names in pop music to lead the charge. Announced on August 16, the series will be hosted by Backstreet Boys‘ AJ McLean, with an impressive panel of judges featuring One Direction’s Liam Payne, Destiny’s Child alum Kelly Rowland, and Pussycat Dolls frontwoman Nicole Scherzinger.
Building the Band promises to be a unique competition, setting itself apart from traditional talent shows. Contestants will form their own bands based solely on musical chemistry, connection, and merit—without ever seeing each other.
